Article Marketing

Almost every marketer talks about article marketing these days. It has become a chief strategy for Internet. Due in part to the popularity of the "bum marketing" method, article marketing has two significant characteristics: it works, and it's free.

There are two important benefits for Internet marketers. First, it generates valuble IBL's, or Inbound Links. Secondly, it provides greater exposure for the marketer and their website.

Just like the other bum marketing strategies, article marketing is all about numbers. It's effectiveness relies on consistent and ongoing effort. A single article has limited benefit, however daily submissions have an overall benefit greater than the sum of its parts.

Maximizing your article submission strategy means targeting a single keyword or phrase, one per article. It's equally important to optimize each article, similar to each page in a website. In fact, each article acts as a one-page mini site.

You optimize an article for the search engines the same way you would for a web page. Put your keyword or phrase in the article title, as the beginning of the first paragraph, the beginning of the last paragraph, and for the anchor text in your link or resource box.

By following a few simple steps, you will gain maximum return for your effort. As part of a multipronged approach, article marketing becomes an extremely effective and inexpensive technique in your arsenal.

Using Free Press Releases To Get Free Backlinks!

For Internet Marketing and affiliate marketing sites to achieve traffic and pagerank, what could be better than free & easy traffic and backlinks?

Press releases can be extremely effective marketing tools, and should be part of every Internet marketers toolchest. But press release distribution can be costly; the top distribution level for PRWeb runs $360+. PRNewswire is even pricier.

The good news is there are some very effective FREE press release services. Most of these offer paid services as well, but their free distribution can be very effective. Some of these sites even offer tips and templates for writing effective releases.

Here is a list of nearly 20 free press release distribution services, taken from our newly-released “Ultimate IM Toolchest” (the first part of our upcoming ”Internet Marketing Almanac“):

Effective Article Marketing Strategy For Affiliates

One way to earn profits as an affiliate marketer is to use article marketing to generate free traffic to your blog or website which is promoting an affiliate offer. The most popular article submission site is EzineArticles.com. Here’s a strategy you can use to get your articles to the top of the heap:

What you want to do is first do a search on the topic that you plan on writing an article for. Take note which article is getting the most page views and what you want to do is copy it. By “copy” I mean create a new headline and article that is VERY similar to the article getting a lot of page views. Basically what you’re trying to do is get the same results that the already published article is getting without creating duplicate content or plagiarizing.

Pay Per Click Strategies For Affiliate Marketing

Pay Per Click (PPC) is one of the ways to boost your affiliate marketing efforts. However, most affiliate marketers have tried PPC, lost money, and decided it wasn't for them.

Using PPC properly can mean literally "money on demand" - if you do it "right". One of the most common mistakes marketers make is in not understanding their Google Adwords settings.

If you are going to use Pay Per Click, it's essential you understand where your money is going, and maintain control over the spending.

The second big issue is conversions. If your ads don't convert into affiliate sales, well then nothing else matters.

There is plenty of good information available to help you become proficient with Search Engine Marketing (SEM). Take the time to learn it, and it will pay dividends for your entire career.

UPDATE

You can now purchase "The Ultimate IM Toolchest", the last Internet Marketing product you will EVER need - and it's only $27!!

Three Ways to Earn Money Through Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is a revenue sharing endeavor between a website owner and an online merchant. The website owner will place advertisements on his websites to either help sell the merchant's products or to send potential customers to the merchant's website, all in exchange for a share of the profits.

There are three ways to earn money through affiliate marketing:

Pay Per Click — Every time a potential customer leaves the affiliate website by clicking on the link leading to the merchant's website, a certain amount of money is deposited in the affiliate's account.

Pay Per Sale — Every time a sale is made as a result of advertising on the affiliate's website, a percentage, or commission, is deposited into the affiliate's account.

Pay Per Lead — Every time a potential client registers at the merchant's website as a result of the advertisement on the affiliate's account, a previously determined amount is deposited into the affiliate's account.

Affiliate Marketing is one of the most easiest and effective opportunities online today!

A Keyword Map of the Whole Internet

The most important step to being successful in Affiliate Marketing is keyword research.

Good keyword research will get you qualified clicks and good SERPS placement. However, most people that use the 'traditional' keyword tools like Wordtracker or Overture end up targeting the same keyword list. The biggest challenge is finding the 'lateral' keyword phrases that may not be obvious, but are what a person is typing into the search engine.

I have found the 'Mother-of-All' keyword tools that finds the lateral keyword phrases.

The tool is KwMap "A Keyword Map of the Whole Internet". It follows Internet conversations and creates a DNA-like graphical map of keywords.

Click here to take a look and try it out for yourself.

Excellent NEW "Water4Gas" Affiliate Product!

"The Ultimate HyperMiling Guide" is a new report being offered with Master Resale Rights. It's part of the marketing support for a new Clickbank product called "The ULTIMATE Gas Saver Guide" intended to take advantage of the current "Water4Gas" craze. The HyperMiling report has ebook cover graphics and a sales page included with it.

(You can find it in the Clickbank Marketplace searching "Water4Gas", and see a write-up plus how to create your hoplink at Improve Your Internet Marketing)

The product has gotten it right: no one actually wants to modify their car, what they want is a solution to high gas prices.

In a clever move to take advantage of what has become Clickbank's best-selling product, there is a water for gas conversion plan product included in the ultimate gas saver guide.

The authors have a pretty nice blog set up Gas For Less Money.

With the unyielding gas price crises, it's no wonder that water for gas is click Bank's best selling product. However it's now become oversaturated with affiliates. "The ULTIMATE Gas Saver Guide" is a better product and will likely have far fewer returns.

It pays 75% of its $47 price tag, coming out to about $33 for each sale.

Pay per Click in Affiliate Marketing

Pay per Click, or PPC, is one of the fastest, surest ways to drive traffic. But does it work if you are promoting affiliate offers?

The answer, of course, is yes! One of the most 'popular' means is using the "Google Cash" method, creating Adwords campaigns that direct-link to an affiliate offer.

Google has recently made some changes that make this a little more difficult - namely, you must link only to your own domains. Of course, there are many ways 'around' this.

The good folks at Analogy Marketing have written extensively about using PPC for Affiliate Marketing. Anyone considering using pay per click would do well to read their blog, Improve Your Internet Marketing.

In fact, they talk extensively about direct-linking and the "Google Cash" method, though you may have to dig around a little.

All Affiliate Marketers should at least be familiar with these methods. With the exception of the most highly competitive products, you can almost always create profitable affiliate sales this way.

CPA Offers: How To Profit With Youtube

Most affiliate marketers are familiar with the term CPA offers. CPA offers or "Cost Per Action" offers, provide a commission when someone performs a certain action, usually something like filling out a form.

CPA offers have the wonderful aspect of not being a sale. What this means is, you don't have to sell anybody anything, you simply have to have them perform the specific action required.

unfortunately most marketers shy away from CPA offers, because they aren't as comfortable with them as they are with traditional affiliate sales. In fact, the marketers that take advantage of CPA offers can do incredibly well.

Here is a great strategy for using Youtube to profit from CPA offers:

Time Spent Learning Versus Time Spent Doing

If you are new to internet markeing or even a seasoned pro you know the difficulties of creating your own success. I have found that one of the biggest reasons why many internet marketers do not success is due to the failure to take action.

Many people spend so much time learning and learning and yet never get around to actually applying any of the knowledge that they have learned. This is possibly because there are so many products out there that seem to position themselves as a magic pill and that just by buying them many beginners think that they will automatically start raking in the big bucks that they see on the sales page they bought from. Sadly, this is not the case and no-one is going to make any money for you but yourself and your own hard work and diligence. [...read more...]

3 Killer Affiliate Marketing Tactics

Basically it allows someone with no products of their own and without any customer service hassles to make a good living online by funneling traffic to other websites and collecting a sizable percentage of the sale. But the good news is that by learning a few really good and clever techniques it is easy to have a great increase in the amount of money that you make for pretty much the same effort as before. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for Article Marketing

Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, works not only for Websites, but for article marketing as well.

Boosting the effectiveness of Bum Marketing means boosting the returns on your articles - namely, how much traffic they bring - you must think of them as miniature Web sites. When you use article marketing, these articles will behave just like, and usually better than your Web sites.
Ideally, your articles reach the first page in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages), as well as have many backlinks pointing to them, so that someone searching on a topic you submitted an article for will find your article.
Of course you should always strive for quality. Whether you are writing them yourself from scratch, modifying PLR articles, or out-sourcing them entirely, an informative, engaging article is better than one that isn’t.Check out this article from the Internet Marketing guru's at Analogy Marketing and their web site Improve Your Internet Marketing!

SpeedPPC pay per click software for affiliate marketing

SpeedPPC pay per click marketing software is a boon to affiliate marketers. Recently, the folks at Analogy Marketing interviewed Jay Stockwell, the developer of SpeedPPC.

When asked how he came up with the idea for SpeedPPC, he said ..."sounds like marketing talk, but that’s really how it happened. We’re not a huge outfit here (although growing), so we’re
always asking ourselves, “is this activity hitting the bottom line?”. We used to be able to be a bit faster and looser with respect to making PPC work. But with the Quality Score noose getting tighter and tighter we decided to stop trying to beat Google, and just give them what they wanted."

Improve Your Internet Marketing has a discount of $100 off the price of SPPC.

A Great Squeeze Page

A "squeeze page", or "name squeeze page" is a web page created to capture an email address. Most frequently, these are the 'freebie' pages offering a free report or other download in exchange for a users email address.

Squeeze pages run the gamut from a simple opt-in form on up to elaborate sites with audio and video. The purpose of a squeeze page is to build an email list. The effectiveness of your squeeze page determines in part how successful your list-building efforts will be.

For affiliate marketers, building a list is crucial, so the importance of your squeeze page can't be underestimated. I recently came across one of the best squeeze pages I've ever seen.

The site is not a traditional Internet Marketing site, but rather a general ecommerce site. Here is a post from Internet Marketing blog where I discovered this amazing squeeze page!

How to Use Google AdWords Keyword Tool in a Way to Get You Hot Keywords By Michael Ullman

While the google adwords keyword tool isn't technically free, it only costs $5, which you get as credit to spend on adwords. This will be the best investment you will make for keyword tools. Think about it. Google is the biggest company in the whole world created for giving data to people who are buying keywords. Google wants to give you the most effective real-time keywords so you will continue to use their services. Why would you want to neglect this resource? Here's how you get the most out of it. First, login to your adwords account, click tools, and then select keyword tool. Search for a broad term in the niche you want to research, and then select "use synonyms" and perform your research. The Google adwords keyword tool will return a list of keywords that have been proven to be relevant by Google standards. Now, take these terms, and put them into the search engine. Take the top 10 websites those terms deliver, then go back to Google adwords keyword tool, click on the site related keywords tab, and enter those 10 sites to get even more keywords. Now, use synonyms for each of these searches and add those keywords to your list. Continue this process over and over again until you get as many keywords as you think are necessary. Now you have a list of keywords that you can use with any other keyword research tools such as Word tracker, keyword analyzer, SEO Elite, and so on to scrape for long tail keyword searches. If you still need more words, you can take the list you returned from the other keyword tools, and then bring them into the Google adwords keyword research tool. You can also use the Google traffic estimator as a guide to see which terms have the highest searches. In conclusion, if you're not using the Google adwords tool as I have described above, you're missing out on some very important keywords.Michael Ullman is President of Analogy Marketing, a leading NY-based Internet Marketing firm, and a Google Certified Professional.

Learning from the WORST…

A common bit of good advice is to learn from what works. So whenever I come across a great salesletter, I try to take something away: a cleaner layout, better use of graphics, and especially great copy. Like many of you, I keep a swipe-file open to save good copy when I come across it.While a great salespage can be invaluably instructive, there is also a lot to be learned from BAD salespages.[Read more →]

How To Increase Opt Ins To Build Bigger ListsBy Michael Ullman
If you've been involved with Internet marketing for more than 10 minutes, you've probably heard that "the money is in the list". That is true. If you can build an e-mail list of people who are interested in what you have to offer, you can communicate with them over and over again and continually sell them on the benefits of your products. The result: a lot more sales. In this article I will show you how to build your list with the most powerful list building technique I've ever come across. It involves giving perceived value, and there are three ways to do it. By reading this article, you can use one or all three strategies described and watch your list grow faster than is ever grown.
A lot of people use e-books as their main product. Really smart marketers use e-books as incentives to get people to subscribe to the list. Then, once somebody subscribes to the list they have other products that they sell to them. In other words, they give away something that most other people sell. E-books are probably the most often used incentive for enticing people to sign up for lists. That is because e-books are pretty much free to create, or can be outsourced at a very low cost. It's a fair exchange: you want to communicate with them to buy your products, and they want the information in your e-book. This is what was building is all about.
In some markets, e-books don't have as high a perceived value as in other markets. A way to get around that is to take your service, and brainstorm a way to offer a free trial for it. It might be a simple as giving them seven days to evaluate your e-book before they need a password to continue looking at. Other ways you can use free trials are to give the first month away of a membership site for free, or creating a trial version of a software to use. Have them sign up to try your trial version, and then continually market to them on upgrading it.
Speaking of software, sometimes creating software that is complementary to your product is a great way to build your list fast. For example if you're selling a book on how to market using youtube, you can create a free piece of software to give away that automates adding comments to other peoples videos. Don't know how to create software? There are plenty people on the Internet who will create it for you for very low price. Just do a little digging around to be surprised at how cheap you can get software created for you. Sites such as Rentacoder and Elance that allow you to create inexpensive but professional products.
There are many additional, free resources for tips & tricks to leverage these strategies, such as Improve Your Internet Marketing.
In conclusion, the best way to the lists is to give them something of high perceived value that they would normally have to pay for to get. If you're willing to take the initial time up front to create this product and give it away, you will reap the rewards by getting high sign-up rates. Then do some simple e-mail marketing to them, and since you have a bigger lists, you also get bigger profits.

SpeedPPC - Most Powerful PPC System Availabl

SpeedPPC is possibly the single application responsible for more of our revenue than any other. So much so that once we got our arms around it, we brought in another full-time assistant just to free up more time to take advantage of it's incredible power!
First things first: I do not write about anything unless I can speak about it knowledgeably. Second, I DO NOT recommend or promote anything I don't believe in. If it's not something I currently use, have used, or have learned about from a legitimate, reliable source, I won't write about it at all.
As PPC affiliate marketers, we always have to be on the lookout for tools and methods that will help us keep a competitive edge. SpeedPPC is a software program and system that claims to 'revolutionize' Pay Per Click affiliate marketing. We all hear similar claims on a daily basis, but decided to take a look. It was a decision that has fundamentally changed my outlook, my business, and my prospects as an affiliate marketer.
As a successful Internet Marketer for over 5 years, I will be the first to tell you there are no "magic bullets". Successful affiliate marketing requires understanding and intelligent application of effective tactics.
Further, let me say plainly that SpeedPPChttp://www.improveyourinternetmarketing.com/speedppc-most-powerful-ppc-system-available-plus-exclusive-discount/">SpeedPPC> is NOT a the place to first enter the affiliate marketing business. I would NOT recommend it unless:
You are already set up with Adwords and at least one affiliate program, such as Commission Junction or Clickbank;
You have already created at least 2-3 campaigns from scratch yourself;
You understand the concepts of adgroups, match types, and Quality Score;
Since that time, we've gotten involved with Jay Stockwell, the developer of the application. As a result of our experience and success with PPC in general and SpeedPPC specifically, we were asked to moderate the SpeedPPC Members Forum, something we now do.
We decided to try and leverage our position - and so we approached Jay Stockwell to ask that in return for moderating his forum, he allow us to offer our readers something special. And boy did he!
You can now get a Private, Exclusive, and Limited Time discount of $100 off the price of SpeedPPC and purchase it for just $397 - less than we paid!

Free Ad Spying and Keyword TrackingI just came across HexaTrack - a FREE Ad Spying and Keyword Tracking application. Back in early 2007, a number of applications gave birth to “Ad Spying” - automated tracking of PPC ads over time to see which ones ran consistently, the idea being that nobody would pay to run ads indefinitely if they weren’t profitable. The premise is a good one, though all of us who jumped into it quickly found that simply copying long-running ads wasn’t all there was to it. Still, Ad Spying works, and there are many benefits to tracking the competition. [Read more →]

Keyword Spy ReviewBy Michael Ullman

Keyword Spy can cut the time it takes to build a keyword list down from hours or days to a matter of seconds. One of the best features is that their return for results happens instantaneously. Most keyword tools take minutes to hours to return results, but you never have to wait when using Keyword Spy. Simply put in a term like flowers, and it will return all the competitors on Google who are bidding on the term flowers. Then you can look at each competitor, and find out all the keywords with the word flowers they are bidding on. In a matter of moments, you can get someone's whole adwords keyword list -- sometimes having more than 27,000 terms! You can export these terms with one click of a mouse button. This is another strong point with using this tool. [ read more]

Secondly, creating a great product and making a very functional website doesn't matter one lick if you can't get people to look at it. Traffic is the most important thing for your success in Internet marketing. If you are going to make money, you need to know how to bring in traffic. You can either pay for traffic, if you have the budget, you can get high rankings in search engines for select terms, or you can utilize other strategies such as article writing and posting on free classified ads to bring traffic to your website. But some how you must familiarize yourself with basic ways of traffic generation, and then determine which ones you will use to get people to come to your website. This is by far the most important thing in Internet marketing.

Lastly, in order to run your business successfully, you must know how to run a business successfully. It would be very smart to take a few books from the library on business plans. Learn about supply chains, and customer service in addition to marketing. If you can't manage your resources and time, than all the inquiries you get about your products and services from your marketing will fall apart as you begin to handle them. I cannot stress this enough -- you should create a business plan to save you time and maximize your potential for profit.

With the proper skeptical attitude toward the products and information you read, a good traffic generation strategy and a sound business plan, you'll be ahead of 95% of people in the Internet marketing arena. The reason most people fail at Internet marketing is because they give up too early. The reason they give out quickly is because they have no long-term vision. By doing all the above, you'll cultivate a long-term vision and you will also use your time and resources much better.
3 Stumbling Blocks All New Internet Marketers FaceBy Michael Ullman
If you would like to start making money on the Internet, but have had trouble doing so, then this article was written for you. Specifically in this article we'll talk about three major stumbling blocks for making money and the Internet. They deal with the areas of information overload, competition and mindset. After reading this article you should be able to develop a strategic plan to avoid these problems which keep many Internet marketers from succeeding.
Most new marketers suffer from “analysis paralysis”. In other words there are so many moneymaking opportunities on the Internet, it's hard to decipher which ones are worth your time and which aren't. In fact some of the information you come across directly contradicts information from another source. Who is right? You must find out yourself through trial and error. The best way to avoid information overload is to set some goals with your Internet business. That way when you come across a new article, or product you will know if it fits into your business plan or not. Without a plan, you try to go in too many directions at one time. [read more]

Improve Your Internet Marketing Strategy

In this article I will explain exactly how to get the most out of your marketing with several specific kinds of follow up strategies. I will breakdown the importance of building a list and how to use it to get a maximum return on investment. After reading this article, you'd have to be brain dead not to get at least one profit generating idea.First, if you don't capture their information, you can't follow up. The money is in the list. There are several ways to build a list, but it all comes down to one thing: exchange. In other words, you have to give a compelling reason for a customer to give you personal information. They have to get something in return. If you're in a hot niche, the reason might be just so they can "stay current". If you're in a very competitive niche, you might have to do it with an all out bribe. Give something away that they cannot resist, and you'll have people giving you permission to email them. With that, let's look at the psychology of the follow-up briefly. One of the most important reasons people buy is because of timing. Here's an example: your prospect's boss really jumped on his case that day. He just got home and he's still seeing red because of his boss. He opens his email and finds a message on "how to make money on the Internet so you can quick your day job!". Perfect timing. But what if that didn't happen? Let's say he found your website last week when he was only mildly annoyed. And you didn't follow up. You probably lost a sell.
Other ways you lose sells by not following up: bad timing. Your prospect wants to buy but his wife is nagging him telling him to cut the lawn. He puts off buying, thinking he'll come back to it later. He never does. But how convenient would it have been to remind him?So here's the first big secret. If you do nothing else but send out the same message to your prospect again, you'll make more sales! All due to timing. So if you have nothing to say on a follow up, just write a brief paragraph saying, "Hey, just in case you didn't get a chance to read this last time, here it is again..."
What other ways should you follow up? One of my favorites is to follow up tying your message to the news. Is there a way you can relate your message to something going on that people are talking about around the water cooler? You can also follow up with more educational information to help your customer make a purchasing decision, with more gifts or simply to ask them some questions.
There is one group of people you should make a very specific plan to follow up on: Your past customers. It's simple. These are people who at one point trusted you enough to give you money. And here's something else: No matter what you sell, there is always something complimentary to it that a percentage of your customers will also purchase if given the right reasons. This means you need to be following up with your customers so you can sell more things to them. Otherwise, if you don't they will go and buy from someone else. You don't want that do you?
So in conclusion, you must make following up deliberate and systematic if you really want to get the most out of your marketing. It is where the most chance for profit windfall is in Internet marketing.

Better Marketing = Bigger Profits for 2008
The Internet Marketing landscape has widened, with more, and more powerful tools, more products to promote, and of course, more competition. We predict there will be both a shakeout and increase in the market. Many of those marginal vendors, questionable tools, and questionable marketing practices will go the way of all things of dubious value. However, the size of all these areas will see accelerated growth. The barriers to entry in the IM business will continue to shrink, attracting more and more players, while these newer entrants will be armed with increasingly powerful tools. [Read more →]
